1

Activate Your SIM Card

Before inserting the SIM, activate it on the SpectrumSIM Platform. Once activated, insert the SIM into your phone and power it on.

Important: Turn on both Data Roaming and International Data Roaming — SpectrumSIM is a roaming SIM card. This will not increase your cost.
2

Open Settings

From the home screen, tap the Settings icon.

3

Tap Connections

In Settings, tap Connections (on some Android models this may be labeled Network & Internet or Wireless & Networks).

4

Tap Mobile Networks

Inside Connections, tap Mobile Networks to access cellular data settings.

5

Tap Access Point Names

Tap Access Point Names to view and manage APN profiles. If this option is greyed out, your phone is carrier-locked and cannot use a different SIM card.

A greyed-out APN option means the phone is locked to its original carrier. Contact your carrier to unlock it first.
6

Add a New APN

Tap the + (plus) icon in the top-right corner to create a new APN profile.

7

Enter the APN Details

Enter the APN name printed on your SIM card package. Leave the username and password fields blank.

APN settings to enter
APN Name = SpectrumSIM
APN = puffin
Username = (leave blank)
Password = (leave blank)
The APN value is printed on your SIM card package — it is either puffin or data641003.
8

Save the APN Profile

Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner and select Save to store the new APN profile.

9

Select the New APN Profile

Back on the Access Point Names list, tap the radio button next to your newly added APN profile to make it the active one.

10

Enable Data Roaming

Go back to Mobile Networks and turn on both Data Roaming and International Data Roaming. This is required for SpectrumSIM to work and will not add any extra charges.

Roaming must be enabled — SpectrumSIM operates as a roaming SIM and won't connect without it.
11

Restart Your Phone

Restart your phone to apply the new APN settings. After reboot, your phone should connect to the SpectrumSIM network automatically.

🎉 Your Android phone is now configured and connected to the SpectrumSIM network.

Still Having Issues?

Here are the most common causes and how to fix them.

1
APN Option is Greyed Out

This means your phone is locked to its original carrier. You need to contact your carrier and request an unlock before you can use a different SIM card.

2
No Data After Setup

Make sure Data Roaming and International Data Roaming are both turned on. Without roaming enabled, SpectrumSIM cannot connect regardless of APN settings.

3
Wrong APN Value

Check the APN printed on your SIM card package — it is either puffin or data641003. Using the wrong APN will prevent data from working.
